Principals Message:
Dear parents,
As principal of Virginia Rocca Barton School, I would like to welcome you and your children to a new school year. The VRB Teachers and Staff are all excited to begin the new school year. Our hope is that you and your child are also excited to begin another year full of learning opportunities. The first day of school is Tuesday, August 5, 2025.
The following information will make the return to school a lot easier:
- Remind your child that they are not the only student who is a bit uneasy about the first day of school. Teachers know students are anxious and will make an extra effort to make sure everyone feels as comfortable as possible.
- Point out the positive aspects of starting school: It will be fun and they will see old friends and meet new ones. Refresh their positive memories about previous years and the new ones they’re about to make.
- Find another child in the neighborhood with whom your child can walk to school.
- Breakfast is served from 7:30 AM. to 8:00 AM.; classes begin at 8:15 AM., be there early so your child is in class on time.
- It is recommended that you connect with your child’s teacher for a few minutes during the first week of school. Our campus will be open the first couple of days of school, for safety/security reasons, we will then revert back to a Closed Campus.
- Families are required to have children wear their uniform starting on the first day of school; see our district dress code policy for more information.
- The After School Program will begin on the first day of school. A reminder; if your child received an After School Program packet please make sure it is submitted to the office. If you are interested in enrolling your child, please stop by the office and complete a registration packet, they will be placed on a waitlist. Priority will be given to students who register before the school year begins.
We look forward to meeting you and your child on August 5, 2025. We will continue to challenge all students intellectually while helping them grow socially. With your help, we will also guide them to become independent thinkers and problem solvers as they achieve academic success.

Como director de la escuela Virginia Rocca Barton, me gustaría darle la bienvenida a usted y a sus hijos a un nuevo año escolar. Nuestra esperanza es que usted y su hijo también esten emocionados de comenzar otro año lleno de oportunidades de aprendizaje. El primer día de clases es el martes, 5 de agosto de 2025..
La siguiente información hará que el regreso a clases sea mucho más fácil:
- Recuérdele a su hijo/a que no es el único estudiante que está un poco inquieto por el primer día de clases. Los maestros saben que los estudiantes están ansiosos y harán un esfuerzo adicional para asegurarse de que todos se sientan lo más cómodos posible.
- Señale los aspectos positivos de comenzar la escuela: será divertido y verán a viejos amigos y conocerán nuevos. Refresque sus recuerdos positivos de años anteriores y los nuevos que están apunto de hacer.
- Encuentre otro niño en el vecindario con quien su hijo/a pueda caminar a la escuela.
- El desayuno se sirve de 7:30 AM. a 8:00 AM. Llegue temprano para que su hijo/a esté en clase a tiempo.
- Se le recomienda que se conecte con el maestro de su hijo/a durante unos minutos durante la primera semana de clases. Nuestro plantel estará abierto los primeros dos días de clases por razones de seguridad, luego volveremos a un plantel cerrado.
- Se alienta a las familias a que los niños usen su uniforme a partir del primer día de clases; consulte nuestro código de vestimenta del distrito para obtener más información.
- El programa después de escuela comenzará el primer día de clases. Un recordatorio, si su hijo recibió un paquete del programa después de escuela, asegúrese de enviarlo a la oficina. Si está interesado en inscribir a su hijo/a, pase por la oficina y complete un paquete de inscripción, se colocará en una lista de espera. Se dará prioridad a los estudiantes que se registren antes de que comience el año escolar.
Esperamos conocerlo a usted y a su hijo/a el 5 de agosto del 2025. Continuaremos desafiando intelectualmente a todos los estudiantes, mientras los ayudamos a crecer socialmente. Con su ayuda también los guiaremos para que se conviertan en pensadores independientes y solucionadores de problemas a medida que logren el éxito académico.
